Thank you for donating bloodJRE PTO Blood Drive

The JRE PTO hosted their annual Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, January 31st from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Our blood drive was again extremely successful! Not only did we surpass last year's total donations, but we exceeded this year's goal! The Red Cross set a goal for Jackman Road Elementary of 32 donations for yesterday's drive, and we ended the night with a total of 39!

That means the donors that presented yesterday (largely in part to our amazing student recruits) can save up to 117 lives!!! We had a total of 33 (some siblings) JRE students recruit 29 of our 42 donors!

Thank you to Mrs. Pidek for chairing this event and thank you to everyone who donated and made this event possible.

New signs being installedNEW SIGNAGE AROUND THE DISTRICT

You may notice some new signs being installed around our district. These new signs are meant to reinforce to district visitors that our grounds and facilities are closed to the general public when school is in session. This is not a new policy (9150 - SCHOOL VISITORS), however, we are stepping up our enforcement of these rules to help ensure the safety of students and staff. Anyone that has school related business during published school hours, is welcome to enter through each building's main entrance and check in as a visitor.

This same School Visitor Policy also addresses animals on our school grounds: “Except as set forth in District policy, canines brought on the premises by law enforcement personnel for law enforcement purposes, or in the case of "service animals" required for use by a person with a disability, no other animals may be on school premises at any time.”

Now hiring, jobs at BPS, see website for details

BPS IS HIRING!

Among the available openings are several Parapro positions. These are great for people looking for part time work that fits within the same times as their child’s school days!

Use the “Jobs at BPS” link to see what is available and for details on applying.

A variety of substitute positions are also available. Substitute bus drivers are in demand. (If you are interested in being a bus driver, please call Transportation Director, Cari Dupree, at 734-850-6071 to ask about paid training if needed.)
