The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a tuition-FREE Preschool that prepares children for kindergarten. Eligible students are children living in Monroe County who attain age 4 by September 1st of the current school year.*

This high-quality preschool program explores the content areas of literacy, math, science, and social studies through active learning experiences. Children develop language and problem solving skills through peer interactions and play. The curriculum is aligned with the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Pre-kindergarten.

The Great Start Readiness Program is funded by a grant from the Michigan Department of Education. The State has identified factors that may affect your child’s education at any time in his/her kindergarten through 12th grade school career.

Bedford Public Schools offers GSRP at Smith Road Elementary school.
