Information $ $ $
If you would like your child to open an
account, they may do so at any time throughout the year! They will
need a permission slip
from their parents or legal guardian that gives permission for them
to open an account. You may fill out the permission slip included
in the bank information, or you can simply write to the school informing
us that you would like your child to participate in our school banking
program, and sign your name. A large banking envelope will then be
given to your child to bring home. Inside the envelope are forms,
which must be signed by the parent. Please return the envelope to
school ONLY on banking days. After receiving the envelope at the
bank, an account will be opened for your child. Following your child’s
initial deposit, additional deposit and withdrawal slips will be
sent to you in the mail at your home. Your child only needs to bring
in their deposit slips and money on banking days after their initial
deposit. No withdrawals are made at our school bank, but you may
withdraw at any Monroe Bank & Trust bank in the area.
If your child opened an account with the bank previously, they
do not need to send in a permission slip or receive a banking envelope.
They should simply bring in their deposit slips and money on banking
days.
Please do NOT send in any money until that TUESDAY (banking day)
with your child. This will help all of us know that the money is
in a safe place until it can be deposited. Checks or cash are accepted
for deposit. A schedule of banking days is printed below. Each classroom
will have the schedule posted in their room.
This program offers your child a great way to save money for their
future. We hope you enjoy this opportunity!
