ACCOUNTING Levels 1, 2, and 3

This course introduces students to the concepts in the accounting cycle. It is a career-oriented class in manual and automated accounting. Computers will be used to promote problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Co-op work-related experience at the job site is available and encouraged for qualified students in Grade 12. Membership in the Business Professionals of America Club is encouraged.

Grades: 10, 11, 12          Prerequisite: None

Areas emphasized include the following: Sole Proprietorships, Balance Sheets, Journals, Worksheets, Income Statements, Partnerships, Ledgers, and Double-entry Accounting sheets.

ACCOUNTING 2 A – COURSE 4521
ACCOUNTING 2 B – COURSE 4522

Grades: 11, 12                Prerequisite: Accounting 1

Areas emphasized include the following: Special Journals, Corporate Accounting, Payroll Systems, Depreciation, Voucher Systems, Accrued Revenue and Expenses.

Areas emphasized include the following: Micro-Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Inventory Planning, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Accrual Systems, Departmentalized Accounting, and Not-for-profit Organizations.
