Course Description - Child Development 1
Child Development I covers the child during prenatal development through the first year of life. Students learn important parenting skills using the "Baby Think It Over" dolls. Areas emphasized include: Birth Defects, Care of Infant, Infant and Child Health, Labor, Pre and Postnatal Development, Pregnancy, Reproduction, Safety, STDs/AIDS. First Year Development includes social, emotional. physical, and psychological development. Parenting is emphasized throughout the course.
Students in Child Development I courses
will experience the responsibilities having a
child with the 'Baby Think It Over' dolls.
