You are invited to join us in making a difference in education and in your child’s life by getting involved through the PTSA. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas and talents are truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to needed tasks throughout the school year. Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in the lives of our children. Becoming a member does not mean you automatically sign up to volunteer, it just means you support our group and believe in what we’re doing. You can be as active as you like; you can simply be a member or you can come to the monthly meetings. Membership is $6 per individual and $11 per family - everyone is welcome!  The "S" in PTSA stands for Students - come and see firsthand how they benefit from so many programs and all of your hard work.

Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the BJHS media center.

Our principal will give a “State of the School” update at each meeting, where parents are welcome to ask questions and discuss school issues openly and honestly.  In addition, special curricular and social programs that BJHS students take part in will be highlighted.

The goals of the Bedford Junior High PTSA are promoted in cooperation with the Michigan PTA and the National PTA, through an educational program directed toward parents, teachers, students, and the general public and are developed though conferences, projects, and programs. All parents and guardians are encouraged to join the PTSA and participate in the joys of middle school students by volunteering to help out in classrooms and at social activities.

The Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA) is formed at the start of the school year for all interested parents, teachers, and students who desire to be active in junior high events and activities. Parental support and interest is sought by students, teachers, and administrators. This Association represents an organization separate and distinct from that of the District as a whole, and the Association’s activities and viewpoints do not necessarily represent those of the District. The objectives of this group are:

  • To promote the welfare of the children and youth in the home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate
intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all
children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
